You are invited to join us on December 7 for an entertaining Saturday afternoon at Arethusa Farm in Litchfield, when we will be hosting the 3rd Annual Celebration of Young Photographers. A unique collection of pictures captured by students from 29 schools throughout Connecticut will be exhibited from 2:00 to 4:30pm. There will be wine & cheese, as well as chocolate milk & ice cream fresh from the farm.
The Celebration of Young Photographers is a free and annual event that brings together community members to celebrate our talented students and their photography work. Students in grades 3-12 submitted a total of 201 images. The photographs express students’ interpretations of this year’s theme, which aligns with the 50th year anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s I Have A Dream speech: In what ways do you see your dreams of freedom, courage or kindness manifested in your world today? A prize will be awarded to one participant each from grades 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12, to be chosen by our distinguished panel of judges (listed here).
The Celebration of Young Photographers will be hosted once again at Arethusa Farm, which is famous for its award-winning purebred cows and high quality dairy products. Those attending the event will have the opportunity to visit the cow barn, between 2:00 and 3:30pm, which is always fun for the whole family.
Photographs and ASAP merchandise will be for sale and all earnings will benefit ASAP’s programs for children.
