ASAP’s first event of the year – The Celebration of Emerging Artists

by Rachel on September 26, 2012

On September 22, ASAP held its inaugural Celebration of Emerging Artists: an Evening of Performance and Fine Art at The Abigail J. Woodhall Performing Arts Center at The Woodhall School in Bethlehem.

One hundred and fifty guests were in attendance to enjoy the evening’s remarkable exhibit and performance by gifted visual artists, musicians, writers, and dancers. Before the performance, guests were invited to view artwork in the gallery while being treated to music by pianist Mark Corbett of Southbury and food by New Morning Market in Woodbury.

These young adults were selected from across northwestern Connecticut to receive scholarships through ASAP’s 2012 Summer Grant Program. Each was able to spend the summer refining their talents at prominent arts institutions across the world such as Rhode Island School of Design, NYU Classical Voice Summer Intensive, and The Alasdair Fraser Fiddle Program at the Gaelic College in Isle of Skye, Scotland.

This event was a great way to start the 2012-2013 ASAP event year! Congratulations SGP Recipients!
